Check-in Station Overview

Check-in Stations let guests check themselves in on an iPad at your event. Use these articles to configure the station in the Event Management backend, brand it for your event, and activate it in the iOS app.

What the Check-in Station is, what it does, and what you need before you start

The Check-in Station turns an iPad into a self-service check-in point for your event. Guests identify themselves at the iPad — by scanning their QR code or by searching for their name — and check themselves in.

The station is configured in two places:

  • Event Management (web) — where you set up the station: passcode, check-in methods, privacy, screen text, typography, and background.
  • The iOS app (iPad) — where you activate and run the station on the day of the event.

  • The Manage plan. The Check-in Station is a Manage plan feature and is not available on the Check-in plan. On the Check-in plan, Check-in Station appears in the menu but is disabled with a crossed-out red icon.
  • An event created in Event Management.
  • An iPad with the [Check-in Pax app name] installed.
  • A 6-digit passcode ready to set (required before the station can be activated).
  • If you plan to auto-print badges: a paired badge printer and a badge design in Badge Designer.
