Set the Check-in Station passcode

The 6-digit exit passcode is required. Learn how to set, generate, and test it.

The exit passcode is a 6-digit PIN that staff must enter to leave the Check-in Station screen on the iPad. It keeps guests from exiting the station or reaching other parts of the app. A passcode is required before the station can be used.

Where to find it

Go to Check-in Station in Event Management, then open the Passcode tab.

Set a passcode

  1. In the Set 6-digit passcode field, enter six digits. The cursor advances automatically after each digit.
  2. You can also paste a 6-digit code into the boxes.
  3. To hide or show the digits, select Hide or Show.
  4. The passcode saves automatically when all six digits are entered. A Saved confirmation appears.

Other passcode actions

  • Generate — creates a random 6-digit code for you.
  • Clear — removes the current code so you can enter a new one.
  • Test in preview — opens the passcode keypad on the live preview so you can try the code. This is only available once all six digits are set.

Weak passcodes

If you enter a common or sequential code (for example, 123456 or 000000), a warning appears. The station still works, but choose something less guessable for production use.

Note: Share the passcode only with on-site staff. Anyone with the passcode can exit the station.

Note: The Check-in App on your iPad needs a refresh after you have changed the Check-in Station passcode. Go back to your event overview to reload event details or alternatively re-login for a full refresh.
