Syncing in Real Time

One of the most powerful features of Check-in Pax is real-time sync. It means that every action taken on any device is instantly reflected on all other devices.

How it works:

When you check in a guest on iPad 1, that guest's status changes to "Checked In" within seconds on iPad 2, iPad 3, your laptop, and your web browser dashboard. No manual updates. No confusion about whether someone has already entered.

What gets synced:

  • Guest check-in status
  • Guest edits (name, email, custom fields, etc.)
  • Guest moves (moving a guest from one guest list to another)
  • New guests added onsite or via RSVP forms

Internet requirements:

  • Online mode: You need to be online with every device to Sync automatically and instantly.

Note: Check-in Pax does not offer a complete offline mode. If a device loses its internet connection for more than 10 seconds, an offline message will appear along with a prompt to reconnect. For security purposes, an offline iPad will lose access to guest lists after a few minutes. This ensures that a lost or misplaced iPad never becomes a security risk or data breach - especially after you have revoked access to that device from your account.

How to confirm sync is working:

Return to the guest list overview and watch the lists update. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a confirmation message: "Guest List sync complete."

If an iPad is offline, a red dot and an "Offline" note will appear in the top right corner, followed by a prompt to reconnect.

Pro tip: Before your event starts, open the app on all devices, connect to the internet and let them fully sync.
