Checking In a Guest
This is the core action of the Check-in App. When a guest arrives at your event, you mark them as checked in. This updates their status, records the check-in time, and can capture which device performed the check-in (optional).
How to check in a guest:
- Open the Check-in App and select your event and guest list.
- Find the guest using the search bar, or filter by status to narrow down the list.
- Tap on the guest's name to open their profile.
- Tap the Check In button once.
What happens after check-in:
- Status changes. The guest's status changes from their previous status (e.g., Confirmed) to Checked In.
- Check-in time recorded. The exact time of check-in is added to the guest's timeline.
- Device name attached. The name of the device used (e.g., "iPad 1 – Main Entrance") is recorded alongside the check-in.
- Real-time sync. The change syncs instantly to all other devices. The guest list numbers update automatically: Confirmed decreases by 1, Checked In increases by 1.
- Visual confirmation in the list view. The guest's name appears in italics with a grey background, and a check-in icon becomes visible next to their name—so your team can instantly see who has already arrived.
- Check-in button disabled. Once a guest is checked in, the Check In button can no longer be pressed for that guest, preventing duplicate check-ins.
What if you check in the wrong guest?
Don't worry. You can undo a check-in using the Revert feature. Simply press and hold the Check In button for 2 seconds to revert the check-in.
